What we need

Roehrig and Co. Ltd will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information. For hotel guests, this does however include name, email, credit card details, contact telephone number. We understand that this data belongs to the guest, not the hotel.

Why we need it

We need to know your basic personal data in order to meet contractual obligations to our guests, and be compliant with UK law. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee our service to you.

What we do with it

All the personal data we process is handled by our staff in the UK and located on servers within the UK. Disclosure of your data to 3rd parties is only to the extent necessary to run our business, fulfil any contracts we enter into with you and where required by law or to enforce our legal rights. We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data. We do not transfer any of your data outside of the EEA.

How long we keep it

We do not retain your personal data for longer than necessary, taking into account legal obligations such as retaining records for tax purposes, after which time it is destroyed. Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

Data for marketing purposes

From time to time we would like to send you an email to inform you of our future offers and events at The Chequers Inn. This data for this marketing purpose is gathered solely from the email sign up link in the footer of our website. If you have provided us with an email address for any other reason, you will not be automatically enrolled.This information is not shared with third purposes and you can unsubscribe at any time via phone, email or our website. We do not use cookies or tracking on our website.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter.If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
